Hi,

I’m considering the Master of Engineering in Computer Science at KU Leuven (English track), and I’m trying to better understand how it compares to the Dutch track.

From the data I found:

  • Around 243 students are enrolled in the Dutch track, with about 97 graduates in a given year (~40%)
  • Around 59 students are enrolled in the English track, with about 16 graduates (~27%)

I understand these numbers don’t correspond to the same cohorts, so I’m not interpreting them as direct success rates. Still, the gap seems quite noticeable.

What I’m mainly trying to understand is how this translates in practice:

  • Does the smaller size of the English track have a noticeable impact on student life (socially or academically)?
  • Is it harder to build a network, find project partners, or integrate compared to the Dutch track?
  • Does the difference in these numbers reflect something I should be concerned about as a prospective student, or is it mostly not visible in day-to-day experience?

I’m also aware that it’s difficult to find clear information from the perspective of someone entering the English track from another Belgian university, and I’m probably missing part of the picture.

For context, I’m currently studying at a non-Flemish Belgian university.

Any insight from current students or alumni would be really helpful.

Thanks!
