I have finally installed the doorbell camera that I had been wanting for a while, the Ubiquiti G6 Pro Entry and I want a smart lock to accompany it. I have an additional challenge of having a double front door and for the life of me I cannot find a solution that works for this setup. The main problem is I can’t find something that passes the WAF of looking more like normal door hardware than a smart lock. I have tried the Schlage encode plus, but I can’t find matching dummy hardware for the other side. I have tried the Level lock which is supposed to be a seamless install by hiding within the door hardware where the dum deadbolt goes, it turns out our hardware is too thin to accommodate the Level lock, which requires a deadbolt housing that protrudes outside the door more than ours does. I have also entertained the idea of access control hardware which is a great use case for the G6 Entry Pro, but it does not pass the WAF no matter how seamless I am able to install it. I have also looked into the August lock, which spins the old mechanical deadbolt, but that doesn’t pass the WAF. Good news is we are looking at replacing the doors, due to some dry rot issues in the frame. This should give us a chance to get whole new hardware entirely, but I am still not sure what we can get to have matching dummy hardware with the smart lock on the main door. Anyone have experience with this?
