New-ish home owner. Unfinished basement. 1950s house in SW PA.

Ran my washing machine today and came down to find water pooled around the floor drain grate in my basement. The drain clearly couldn’t keep up with the discharge.
Worse — there are live insects moving around in the standing water. Not sure if they were already living in the drain or if this is something else entirely.

This is the first time I’m seeing this and pretty clueless and worried. Any help or direction would be amazing.
