Sort of curious about trying a pair of ARs. I usually wear some Solovair boots, size 6.5, and just fancied something a bit more ‘rugged’ and less subcultural-coded.

However, I live in England, and I’m a bit concerned about the sole of the standard ARs being a bit too slippery on wet pavements in the autumn/winter. Also, once a week for work I walk a path through a small piece of woodland - it’s some 5-15 minutes walk depending on the weather and time of year, with it being dry soil in summer, but World War I mud conditions in the wettest winter days.

Any suggestions?

(Also, sizing. My Solovair boots are size 6.5 UK, an older pair of Dr Martens (gaucho leather, lug soles) size 7, and in warmer weather usually wear Converse, size 8. All trainers seem to be UK size 8, whichever the brand.)
