So i’m an Infantryman with 4+ years in. Ranger grad, sapper grad. I wanted to share knowledge and info of what I wish I knew when I first joined - Gear, Fitness, Finance, Battle drill / tactic knowledge etc. The website I created is warfighterforged.com - Would love to get some feedback / what yall think

Mountain Phase. Night op. Pouring rain, pitch black. Carrying the SAW down a ridge so steep I literally couldn't stand up. The OTB Maritime Assault Mids I'd been wearing since pre-Ranger had smooth, faded tread by that point. I slid down the cliff on my back trying not to take out the guy below me. The boot was perfect for movement, perfect for water, perfect for everything except the ONE thing I needed it to do that night.

That experience kicked off a serious deep dive on what actually works boot-wise across different environments. I've personally worn OTBs, Garmont T8s, Oakley SI Light Assaults, and the issued Bellevilles from OSUT. Researched the hell out of Danner Reckonings, Belleville Khybers, Rocky S2Vs, Nike SFBs, and Danner Tachyons based on guys I trust who actually run them downrange.

Wrote it all up into one honest ranking. 8 boots covered, broken down by environment, weight, drying speed, traction, and what they actually cost you in the field. No sponsorships. No affiliate-driven picks. Every "best military boots" article ranking on Google right now is written by a company that sells boots — figured someone should write one that isn't.

If anyone wants it, here's the link: warfighterforged.com/best-military-boots-2026

Genuinely curious though — what are you guys running right now and what made you pick it? Especially interested in what's working for cold weather environments. That's the gap in my own experience and want to dial that section in for the next update.
