Hello, I am working on having this sapphire set into a very special ring that will see daily wear. How can I better "beautify" this ring setting? My goal to maximize the beauty of this stone. It will be set in platinum, I am pondering adding some filigree but our jeweler thinks plain would look better given how small the band will end of being.
I wish to accentuate its best characteristics in the setting, which MUST be a half bezel due to my line of work/I am clumsy so please do not try to persuade me to go with prongs, this is not possible.
Would this be considered a "medium dark" royal blue sapphire, or darker? Just curious. It never quite "blacks out" all the way but in poor lighting conditions it is quite dark (which I don't love but understand that is how it is with a darker royal blue sapphires).
It was purchased from Gemfix so the cut is excellent. It does have a few minor inclusions and minor green-ish zoning in a couple of spots, minor side windowing, and at some angles some purpleish zoning (which I love).
What do you think of the current CAD? I mostly don't like the trapezoid side diamond shape so we are working on that. Are there elements I could add to break up the plain-ness of the band? Anything else you would do that I am missing? I have size 5.5 finger if that helps.
