Hello everyone,

I’m currently running a Valerion VisionMaster Pro 2 on a WuproBuy Soft Grey FlowArc (motorized top-down). While I love the projector, I’m struggling significantly with laser speckle in bright scenes and highlights on this specific screen material.

I’m considering moving to a DIY Seymour AV Center Stage UF (Ultra-Fine) acoustically transparent screen to kill the speckle and move my front stage behind the screen for a better soundstage.

Due to the small footprint of my room being wider than it is deep (10’ x 14’), I can’t fit standard bookshelves behind a screen. I would have to sell my current front stage and swap to in-walls.

  • Current Front Stage: KEF Q350 (L/R) and KEF Q6 Meta (Center).
  • Proposed In-Wall: Polk 265-LS (L/C/R).
  • Rest of Gear: 2x RSL Speedwoofer 12S, 4xElac OWM 4.2 (Rear/Surrounds), 4xRSL Heights.

My questions:

  1. How much of a "downgrade" in audio quality/clarity am I looking at moving from the KEF Meta center to the Polk 265-LS in-walls (Military 40% polk discount)?
  2. Has anyone used the Seymour UF material specifically with the Valerion VisionMaster to confirm it effectively eliminates the triple-laser speckle?
  3. In a room this small, is the benefit of a perfectly centered acoustic soundstage worth the sacrifice in driver quality?

Appreciate any insight from those who have made a similar jump from bookshelves to in-walls without going ham with a massive budget.
