for context, loved them since the first album. if this reads like a triggered loser, it’s because i am. i absolutely hated that show.

i could see some people enjoyed it. cheering. not much dancing really. and of course it’s subjective.

for anyone who wasn’t there - they played their vocal stems over 90% other people’s tunes - The Smiths, Gorillaz, etc… probably a bit of tweaking to get rid of vocals but pretty much just other people’s instrumentals.

that was it. spamming air horns and other people’s music for an hour.

the visuals were just a collection of AI clips without any real curation, shutterstock, some film clips (particularly a clip of chicks waiting to have their beaks burned off which is from Buraka, which i thought was genuinely offensive) as well as some news footage of air strikes / explosions / war footage, which given the tone of the show were really jarring.

doors were 6pm-10pm, i got there at 7:30 and it was just them playing crowd noise through the speakers until 8, when they came on they played til 9pm then left.

that was it. £30 a ticket. completely rammed, no space to dance.

honestly i feel like they’ve taken the piss out of me - i get it, it’s “ironic”, nihilism as an aesthetic. but ultimately as an artist maybe just give your fans something for their money and support. they could’ve cheaply shot a one take thing on a DV cam wandering around a city and played their own instrumentals and it would’ve had ten times the value in my opinion.

they were also selling badly made ironic “i went to headache and all i got was this t shirt” shite quality merch for £40.

completely subjective of course but just really interested to hear what other people thought if they were there or have seen them?
