East Coast Haul and Dauvissat

Returned from a trip to the east coast working the market with my US importer.

Chose 5 bottles for my luggage. Than those bottles of current release Dauvissat appeared out of nowhere just sitting on the shelf for a reasonable price. But I can't go to America to buy European wine and fly it back to Europe, just think about the environment... so I bought it and opened it immediately with my business partner:

Elegant reduction on the nose, not flinty but a cellar made, expensive wood reduction. Densely woven body and very classic chablis fruit but supported by enough weight to make it into a very solid overall package. The nose opened up nicely after about an hour but by then most of the bottle was already gone.... 93+points.

Opinions about the things i brought over?

It finally happened after 15 years.

I travel a lot for my winery and pretty much always habe bottles in my luggage. My own on the way there and foreign for my private consumption on the way back.

This time upon arrival in the US a bottle was cracked. Although wrapped in bubble wrap, t-shirts, socks and underpants. My undergarments will smell of mulled wine for the rest of my trip as I ironed them dry.

I am really happy to be a white wine producer right now!

How do you protect your bottles?

For the way back i already secured a bottle of cayuse en cerise.
