Advice on picking classes for first semester of grad school, Library Science program

Hi all, I recently got admitted to WSU and am set to start in the fall. I'm in the Library and Information Science program, and am wondering how to set up my first semester.

I got an email from advising suggesting I only take 2 classes my first semester to get used to the rigors of grad school. I don't know if this is actually necessary, so I was looking for info from current grad students, preferably in this program, on whether it would actually be a good idea. I want to finish school ASAP, and taking less than full time for my first semester wouldn't be ideal for that.

Is the program actually that hard?
