There's a 2024 Accord Touring Hybrid that sat in a lot on the other side of the county, then was moved to a dealership near me and is currently priced just under 30k. <50mi on it, but is technically a used car since it was sold by the first dealership.
Are there any risks besides these that I would need to be aware of?
- Have the 12v battery tested
- Make the dealership do an oil change
- Check for tire flat spots
- Have the high voltage battery tested (I've read that it's important not to let hybrids sit for a long period of time w/o driving. From my understanding dealerships start them and run them every other week or so for a few minutes just so the batteries won't start having issues)
Biggest up front cons:
- Technically used so I won't be able to get the tax deduction on interest paid on the loan for a new vehicle assembled in the US
- I may be missing out on 2 years of warranty on the battery (I need to call honda to verify this)
- I may be missing out on part of the 3yr/36kmi warranty (I need to call honda to verify this)
I was originally looking at a new Civic Sport hybrid, but with a kid on the way I'll likely appreciate the extra space of the accord for the same price. I'll also appreciate all the extra functionality on this trim that I normally would not pony up for.
