New aggression towards cats post neutering
Hi all, just want to see if anybody else has experienced this. Buddy has always been fine with the cats even cuddling in the crate with them however since he has been neutered just under a week ago and especially today he keeps chasing them out of my room. This is where his crate is and where he gets fed. Like I said them being in the space with him has never been an issue before but him chasing the cats has gotten so much worse especially after he got a bone today as a treat to eat in the room. We have separated them for now for the safety of the cats. I have read that the hormone imbalance from getting neutered may cause increased aggression for a moment. Has anybody else experienced this? Will he go back to being able to tolerate them? Just for extra info he is almost 11 and we had to get him done as he had cancer. Could it be that because he is feeling better and the cancer is not impacting his overall wellbeing as much his prey drive has just come in stronger? He has a follow up appointment on Monday so I will bring it up then however any thoughts and opinions are welcome in the mean time :)
