Why was everyone freaking out?

I'm currently at volume 14 of the Light novel where rimuru awakened his 12 subordinates as Demon lords and named them the Twelve Chaos Guardian Lords. However, I'm confused about the reaction other characters are giving to this, like yeah I get it's crazy that he now has 12 demon lords as his subordinates but that's not why I'm confused.

First of all the main reason from what I understand how rimuru was able to awaken the others was by giving them the souls of the dead. If it's that simple how didn't guy do it? Surely guy has taken the lives of many humans during his years that he acquired the right amounts required to awaken Misery and Raine right? So why didn't he do it?

Furthermore Millim even said she herself can't awaken demon lords like rimuru can so instead she has to rely on training her subordinates. Though, I'm confused whether she meant as in she just doesn't have the right amount of souls since she hasn't killed any humans since the kingdom she wiped out, or if she meant she just lacked the ability to do it overall regardless of souls.

Can ya'll clear this up for me? I don't mind spoilers, I'm just confused on why characters like Guy Crimson especially haven't tried it yet. Surely a demon who existed since the dawn of time and has been allowing his demon subordinates to run amok in human territories would eventually accumulate the required amount of souls over the years right?

Coincidence or not?

Just felt like pointing this out. Millim's name is written as Mirimu in romaji, isn't that way too similar to rimuru? Ya'll think veldora just scrambled the letters in millim's name to intentionally name rimuru that or was it just coincidence?

I came across this old comment on here saying Ramiris is the progenitor for Spirits and it got alot of upvotes, but I was under the impression that Ramiris was just a random spirit that veldanava named and assigned her Spirit Queen? Furthermore the greater elemental sprits that the demons and angels came from I'm pretty sure came before Ramiris no? Also what's ramiris true race when she's in her adult form? She's a pixie in her child state but what about her adult state?

We know Leon Cromwell was a Divine Human, which are as rare as True Dragons (infact even rarer since they're more TDS in existence than Divine Humans). Somehow currently he's a demonoid which is a step down the evolution ladder as ramiris put it "demoted". However, on the wiki I'm seeing his race listed as Demonoid (Divine) and it seems that racial category is unique to him, but what is it exactly? Is it the combination of Divine Human and Demonoid properties? And who's stronger him or the current three Divine humans (Chole, Hinata, Masayuki)?
