Does your residential complex have a dedicated caretaker/maintenance guy?
I just wanted to ask how maintenance works in general in South Africa, whether they tend to have at least one dedicated caretaker on site or if it's all outsourced on a per-issue basis.
In the complex i'm living in everything is managed by the body corporate/managing agent without any dedicated maintenance guy on site, i.e. everything (except gardening which comes in every week to cut grass and empty bins) turns out to be a contractor call out which is both expensive and inefficient. Even for things like changing a light bulb i'd guess (and it often leads to small things taking long to get addressed or not done at all...).
Do all new complexes work like this?
