After my initial ER visit in January, I was able to see a GP at a low-cost clinic at the end of February. I haven't had a GP in ages, and I guess they require one to be seen before you see a cardiologist? Even if I could see one, a holter monitor is something I literally cannot afford. There are no stops I can pull, no favors, no credit or big-ticket items I can sell. I'm broke... I'm not sure, all I know if I don't have insurance and I'm struggling to figure out what to do.
The GP didn't do much other than discuss my symptoms and keep me on my initial Rx of 50mg Metoprolol... a month later, I feel my heartrate skyrocket to 150, and I'm back in the ER.
CBC cleared, troponin fine, x-rays good, but... there isn't much else they can do aside from keep me comfortable and calm until my heartrate drops. They gave me some fluids, but that's about it.
Not even two weeks later this very night, bam... it happens again. 165bpm, but this time I'm not even given fluids. They doubled my dose of Metoprolol and waited for the tests to come back clean, which they were.
I can't keep doing this. I can't keep going to the ER every time my heart skyrockets, I'm already nearly $1,000 in the red from all of the ER visits. I don't expect anyone here to have answers, I can barely even visit this sub because all I see are people discussing all these ablations and blood tests and monitor results and I have no idea what any of it means, and I'm terrified because I feel like my lack of a high-paying job will end with my stroking out and keeling over.
I don't know what to do anymore. Nearly 4 months in and no answers... I'm gonna become a statistic.
