I'm still wrapping my head around how Maul's entire team died because he refused to leave the planet without Devon.

It dawned on me when they were fighting Vader together after Daki's death. There were moments when Maul would react to some of his crew's deaths, like Spybot and maybe Scorn (though it can be argued he saw Savage rather than Scorn), but... I don't think he really cared about them to that extent because Devon held more importance to his cause than they did.

When Devon sympathized with him after losing all his people, he remained silent and emotionless, really. Then it all really came together in the very last scene where all the sacrifices were worth it just for him to gain an apprentice.

This is a Sith trait, though, no? Non-Force-sensitive people are usually regarded as insignificant.

It's all just so wild to me, and I'm still sad. Mainly for Rook.
