Stuck between two strategies

I'm not quite sure what to do with this deck. I need to make one more cut and I'm having some rebellious thoughts about cutting mathemagics... but surely that cant be right, right?

I'm just not sure whether this deck wants to be more aggressive and keep firing off removal until they die, or if I should sit back and go more control-based.

In either case, I feel weird about running both capstone and mathemagics. Would not feel good to hit Maths off the cap, but SURELY i can't cut them, right??

I've had this issue with this deck and several others this format. I sometimes find it difficult to choose an overall strategic direction for my piles and end up with just a bunch of good stuff that doesnt feel quite so cohesive. Any advice on this? Am I just overthinking, perhaps?

So I drafted this pretty good looking silverquill deck and was thinking about what cuts to make, when realised I actually dont know when it's acceptable to cut a land for a playable card - though I do have a hunch that this deck could fit the bill.

I assume you need something with a low curve and/or lots of card draw, right? But beyond that, I really don't know when to deviate from the trusty old count of 17 (I even see some decks run 18, which i don't understand either).

Any tips/rules of thumb?
