I’ve been shooting handguns for a couple of years, and own two Walters—a PDP compact and PQ SF. I like them both a lot, but I’d like to pick up a DA/SA cocker hammer gun for possible carry use. I’ve been looking at the P-01, and more recently the 229. My local FFL has a used 229 Legion for $850. I can easily find a P-01 for $700-750, but I’d have to get an optic cut, so the price would be pretty much a wash.
What do you all think of those two guns? Or is the Shadow 2 Carry enough more of a gun to be worth $550 more?
Edit: I can’t find either of these to rent near me, but I’ve shot a full-size CZ SP-01, and a full-size Sig 226. Both felt fine to shoot, but I shot the Sig better. Does that mean anything when thinking about compact guns?
