An Interpretation of Sukuna as a person.

Okay so, I've read and watched countless evaluations of Ryomen Sukuna on YouTube and fan interpretations of how he might be as a person, especially in the Heian era where his history isn't much explored. I figured I'd contribute to the growing ambiguity that is Sukuna by spicing things up and adding my own flavor to the mythical monster, and the lucifer of Jujutsu society.

I've read in countless interpretations that Ryomen Sukuna does not inherently have some grand ideology or doctrine he follows all throughout his life. A thing that influenced this interpretation is due to his intent to kill and his seemingly instinctive urge to consume, so much so that one user somewhere (I forgot the source, forgive me) pointed Sukuna as the incarnation of Gluttony made flesh, and that he has no inherent reason/motivation to kill, but has a primal urge to consume. Another interpretation I loved is the one that states Sukuna undeniably "understands" other sorcerers' philosophy—Yuji's, Gojo's, etc, but outwardly rejects being indoctrinated by it in all aspects, he understands each one's ideology, but that no one could truly understand him as a character—because there is nothing to understand, and nothing to evaluate to begin with.

Just some foresight on this interpretation, I took some creative liberties, and relied more into an interpretation of "curses" I once stumbled upon while researching about cursed techniques whereas their interpretation of how techniques form is literal—a curse being imposed into a person, whether it be sin, status, emotion, experience, profession, it revolves around the person's curse they were born with, and I integrated that into my interpretation along with some not-so-canon explanations as to why his physical biology is as strange as it gets. This one has some imagery and figurative language/symbolisms on it so try to be open for creative interpretations and reconceptualizing of existing material we were scarcely provided with in the original story. Please do note that "Rainu Hitokui" is a placeholder name for Ryomen Sukuna as Sukuna was a title cursed on him from his conception, and we truly don't know his real name. Also, multiple fan theories and (I don't remember where, but I remember reading about it) the wiki/guidebook that Sukuna's birthday was November 1, 794, so I added that in for a little spice. Also, please bare with me for the cryptic language as I was feeling a lil ominously when typing the interpretation, and I wanna also deliberately leave room for ambiguity so that you guys could fill in some gaps yourselves! :D

— November 1, 794 - Heian Era.

> Raiju Hitokui, an infant sorcerer born in a remote, irrelevant family with an odd, peculiar talent to cut, sever, and dice. A child who seemed to develop animalistic urges to consume, to eat, and to kill even in the womb. And was born cursed due to his infant sin of consuming his kin inside his mother's uterus as an instinctive urge of survival... And something sinister. Due to his curse of Gluttony, and theurge to consume without cease, he developed a peculiar taste to consume more than he could chew, and swallowing anyway as he cuts it further to force it down his throat, and soon, he looked for better tasting meat to consume and to fill his never-ending void. Due to his curse, he was granted—or rather—cursed with the manifestation of mouths to consume, and four monstrous arms to clutch more than he could fathom... And then—inevitably, two faces that symbolize how he appeared as an innocent child to lure unsuspecting merchants and civilians to fill his twisted gut. This was all instinct to him, not as much that it had malice and he actually intended harm—no, it was all instinct. The instinct to consume. No one realized until it was too late, and he was consumed by it too. He did not understand why, but he swallowed more than he could chew. People started viling him as an outcast, and the reincarnation of the cursed oni—a mythical beast called "Ryomen Sukuna", and was feared and treated like garbage throughout his early days as a freak and a monster, this gave him the motivation to kill, and have an alibi to consume for the first time—though not for long, as that unending gluttony then turned to ideology, then to pride, and then—even he grew, in stature, in power, in sadism. He killed and consumed for the hell of it. And he diced, slashed, and mutilated for his own satisfaction. A relentless urge to consume, and a prodigy that embodied the curse it was born with. Soon enough, he became known in the jujutsu world for his vehemently revolting nature, and the fear that came with it made him stronger, and more inspired. Soon enough, he threw away his old name, buried it in dust like how he buried his mutilated parents in the woods because he felt like it, and started embracing what people called him—Ryomen Sukuna.

JUJUTSU SCHOLARS—I NEED YOUR PROVISION.

Is it possible for a pseudo-open domain using barrier manipulation and some binding vow integration, instead of an actual open domain barrier, the domain is inverted/flipped inside out. With the barrier inside as a small compressed but fragile black ball, and the domain's surehit/environment projected onto a space surrounding the shell/domain barrier in a set radius?

HOLY SHII IS THIS THEORETICALLY POSSIBLE?!

Barriers and Veils have always been funky. I mean—It IS one of my hyperfixations to the point that I've discussed and asked about RCE-composed domains and whether this is possible. BUT while experimenting with veils, I came across something that I THINK is possible, or that I have severe schizophrenia:

Is it possible for one to setup a large web of interconnecting binding vows to achieve one effect as an experiment: augment and mimic gojo's infinity via a self-covering/body-localized layered veil with the condition of repulsion and denied entry but allowed exit. We know that veils are barriers that are not necessarily domains, and you could impose rules on them on how they're supposed to act, now would it be possible to apply it locally on yourself? to create some sort of pseudo-Infinity mimicking the repulsion effect of Limitless (yes, yes I know that Infinity only divides the distance between the object and the user, BUT could this work figuratively and literally in practice?

IF SO—Is it plausible in Jujutsu Kaisen? given the right conditions for a binding vow, that a veil is localized as "body shell" rather than an AoE dome/barrier?

AND IF THAT'S POSSIBLE WITH BINDING VOWS, and enough understanding of barrier techniques and such. IF it's plausible... Domains don't necessarily need barriers right? we see Sukuna using a barrier-less domain expansion. What about this: the effects of the domain are localized around the user's body. So instead of creating a dome/sphere barrier when they chant/handsign for the domain or overlay the domain in reality, they overlay it on THEMSELVES only as a localized field like Gojo's Infinity except its the domain's surehit when you get close enough. With the right binding vows, maybe this could theoretically work? Just imagine Sukuna doing a domain expansion, then catching anyone offguard as he expects a full domain, but Sukuna manifests it on him and has a pseudo-infinity made of relentless slashing around his body that slash anything that goes near Sukuna. As for shelled/barrier-enclosed domains, I feel like this could also work though with much difficulty: a binding vow that treats domain shells as assignable properties, for example, a domain could be manifested if the user itself carries the burden of being the domain shell/barrier, if they sustain injury, the domain would collapse because they are technically "the barrier", now with this concept, it's like an inside-out domain, sure-hit on the outside/around the user like Gojo's infinity but with the domain's surehit effect instead, and the user being/embodying the domain's physical barrier instead. So they'd have to damage the user to collapse the domain or collapse it via CE exhaustion.

GIVEN THAT THEORETICALLY, the sorcerer we're experimenting with has near-infinite CE reserve, and an extreme understanding of barrier techniques, would this be possible? or is there a hard-limiter stated in the manga that would hinder this? (so sorry, I'm an anime-only fan, I don't read mangas).

please help me find a song 🥹

HELP ME FIND A SONG PLEASE. IT GOES SOMEWHAT LIKE THIS, I'm so sorry if the lyrics are too fragmented or if I remember it wrongly but I used to listen to it all the time, it's an old song me and my sister used to listen to around 2016 - 2017, my sister says she remembers it being popular around the Daet Bicol region (Philippines), here are the fragmented lyrics I somewhat remember:

I would like you to know, no matter how far you go, I'll be here and come what may, etc etc

Youre the ... of my heart....

Never go away..

You're the one, you're the one when I close my eyes everything inside of my heart will be hard to find never go away, let me feel this way, never try to say you're not gonna stay

I had some ideas for something like this sometime ago, basically, I asked the question whether it was possible to manipulate external CE at a set distance instead of internally manipulating it. Probably best for a heavenly restriction instead of a CT. In exchange, the user has effectively and virtually no CE reserves and cannot wield/manipulate CE internally, this means no CE blasts, no cursed reinforcement, and other various CE-based applications, instead, the user gains the ability to manipulate ambient CE around them, either to solidify on one of their limbs to create some sort of pseudo-cursed energy reinforcement around their body, and even interact with CE directly and multiply it in itself manually (though extremely difficult) to create fragments of positive CE they could build around painstakingly in one specific area so when the user walks through it, they are healed in a pseudo-RCT way. The user can also solidify CE as I mentioned, this means the user can construct swords out of CE for some seconds before it collapses. This is still a rough sketch/concept so lmk what you think :D

Primordialeon is a technique where the user generates a large-scale cursed energy field that behaves like a living gravitational presence. This presence does not physically pull enemies in, but it forces their body movements, timing, and cursed energy output to constantly “desync” from what they intend to do. Actions feel slightly delayed, heavier, and less responsive the longer someone remains inside the field.

The technique only activates after the user maintains uninterrupted cursed energy output for 3 seconds. If the user is struck, forcibly moved, or loses concentration during this period, activation fails and enters a 10-second cooldown where the technique cannot be attempted again.

Once active, Primordialeon creates a field with a fixed radius of 30 meters. Everything inside this radius is affected. Outside this range, the technique has no effect at all. The field persists only while the user is actively maintaining cursed energy circulation. If the user is heavily exhausted or disrupted, the field weakens immediately.

The main passive effect is called Primordial Pressure. This effect does not immobilize targets but steadily increases resistance in their movements. At long range inside the field, it feels like slight resistance in the air. At mid range, movement speed and reaction timing begin to noticeably slow. At close range, within about 5 meters of the user, coordination becomes unstable, and cursed energy techniques may misfire or lose precision.

The pressure does not stack infinitely. After about 8 seconds inside the field, a target reaches maximum debuff strength and further exposure does not worsen the effect.

The technique also carries a secondary effect called Embers of Dominion. Every time the user successfully hits a target with cursed energy, that target gains a temporary mark that slightly increases the damage they take from all sources for 6 seconds. This effect can stack up to 3 times per target. Beyond that limit, no further amplification occurs.

Primordialeon has a built-in defensive layer called Scaled Reflection. A portion of incoming damage is converted into cursed energy reinforcement instead of directly harming the user. However, this conversion is limited. Only up to 30% of incoming damage can be absorbed this way. The remaining 70% is still taken normally. If the user is hit by extremely high burst damage, the absorption system becomes unstable and briefly shuts down for 2 seconds, leaving the user fully vulnerable.

The technique has one primary active extension called Apex Surge. To activate it, the user must fully stabilize the Primordial Pressure field for at least 5 seconds without interruption. Once triggered, Apex Surge lasts for 12 seconds.

During Apex Surge, the pressure field expands to 40 meters, and all debuff effects are strengthened. Movement resistance increases, cursed energy instability becomes more severe, and marked enemies take slightly increased damage from all attacks. However, the user’s cursed energy consumption doubles during this state.

After Apex Surge ends, the user enters a forced recovery state lasting 20 seconds. During this time, their cursed energy output drops significantly, and Primordial Pressure becomes weaker than normal, making them temporarily more vulnerable than baseline.

Primordialeon’s major limitation is sustained focus. The technique requires continuous cursed energy output to remain stable. If the user becomes distracted or overwhelmed by too many simultaneous targets, the field begins to fluctuate, reducing its effectiveness unevenly across different areas. Around 6 to 8 targets, the system remains stable. Beyond 12 targets, the user begins experiencing mental strain, resulting in delayed pressure application and reduced control precision.

Another limitation is mobility trade-off. While the technique is active, the user must maintain a stable stance or controlled movement pattern. Sudden high-speed movement reduces field consistency and can temporarily shrink its effective radius until stabilization is regained.

Primordialeon is strongest in structured fights where enemies are forced to remain within its radius, allowing pressure and damage amplification to accumulate over time. It is weakest against highly mobile opponents or long-range fighters who can avoid sustained engagement.

Vampiriling is a cursed technique centered on constant healing through damage, close-range pressure, and weakening enemies’ ability to sustain themselves in combat.

The technique only functions while the user is actively circulating cursed energy. If the user stops outputting cursed energy or is heavily disrupted, all effects shut off immediately. It does not persist passively without focus.

The technique’s main range is 18 meters. Outside that range, it has no effect. Inside the range, the strength increases the closer the target is to the user. At the edge of the range, effects are minor. At close range, the effects become much more dangerous.

The core mechanic is life conversion. Whenever the user successfully lands an attack with cursed energy or a physical strike reinforced by cursed energy, a portion of the damage dealt is returned to the user as healing. This healing is not instant regeneration of missing limbs or fatal injuries. It mainly restores stamina, minor injuries, blood loss, and partial tissue damage.

The conversion rate is approximately 20% of damage dealt to players and 5% to weaker targets or non-sorcerer entities. Against stronger cursed energy users, the healing is reduced further if their cursed energy reinforcement is high.

The technique requires consistent aggression to be effective. If the user stops landing hits for more than 6 seconds, the healing effect becomes extremely weak and the user begins losing momentum in combat.

The secondary effect is suppression of enemy regeneration. Anyone inside the range experiences reduced natural healing and slower recovery from injuries. Their cursed energy flow also becomes slightly harder to stabilize after taking repeated hits. This does not completely stop healing abilities, but it makes them significantly less effective while under pressure.

Vampiriling also enhances physical mobility at night or in low-light environments. In those conditions, the user’s movement speed increases by roughly 25 percent. During daylight or bright environments, this speed bonus is reduced or fully inactive depending on cursed energy output.

The technique has a built-in passive recovery effect called sustained vitality. While actively damaging enemies, the user slowly regains stamina and resistance to fatigue. This allows longer fights without exhaustion, but it does not prevent eventual burnout from prolonged combat.

The technique includes one major activation state called Nightwalker Surge. This requires the user to consciously force their cursed energy into a heightened circulation state for 3 seconds without interruption. If they are hit or interrupted during this buildup, the activation fails.

Once active, Surge lasts for 10 seconds. During this time: healing effectiveness increases significantly, attack speed slightly increases, and cursed energy cost per strike decreases.

However, after Surge ends, the user suffers a 15-second fatigue window where cursed energy output is reduced and healing is temporarily weaker than normal.

The main combat feature during Surge is enhanced chaining of healing through multiple hits. Landing consecutive strikes within short intervals increases total healing efficiency, but only up to a limit. After roughly 5 rapid hits, additional healing returns diminish to prevent infinite sustain.

The technique also has a defensive weakness. It does not reduce incoming damage directly. If the user is hit harder than they can heal through attacks, they still take full damage. Against high-burst opponents, the technique becomes much less effective because it relies on trading hits rather than avoiding them.

Another limitation is dependency on close combat. If the user cannot consistently stay within 18 meters of the target or cannot land hits, the technique provides almost no benefit. Ranged fighters or highly mobile opponents can reduce its effectiveness significantly.

Finally, Vampiriling places strain on the user’s nervous system during extended use. Continuous healing conversion requires constant cursed energy processing. After about 3 minutes of sustained combat, the user begins experiencing delayed reaction time and reduced cursed energy efficiency, making them more vulnerable if the fight drags on without decisive outcome.

— Oh and also, one more thing: the healing feature only works if the user engages in combat and deals damage to opponents using their fists, promoting melee combat, if they use anything else like weapons or cursed technique manifestations/ce manifestations (beams, DE, etc), the healing factor is extremely weakened, or in some cases, won't work at all.

The technique allows the user to compress cursed energy into their legs and nervous system to produce extremely fast bursts of movement. These bursts are not sustained flight or permanent speed enhancement. Instead, they are repeated short accelerations that look like instant repositioning.

The user can activate Flashstep Body only after building up cursed energy flow for 1.5 seconds without interruption. If they are hit, grabbed, or forcibly disrupted during this buildup, the technique fails and must restart. This prevents instant escape without preparation.

Once active, the technique lasts for up to 12 seconds per activation. During this time, the user can perform up to 6 burst movements. Each burst covers a maximum distance of 18 meters. After each burst, there is a forced cooldown delay of roughly 0.3 seconds before another burst can be executed. This prevents infinite chaining of instant repositioning.

The total usable range of the technique in a fight is 40 meters from the user’s starting position. If the user moves beyond that range from their original activation point, the technique begins to destabilize and ends immediately.

Each burst movement consumes a moderate amount of cursed energy and places strain on the lower body and nervous system. After 3 consecutive activations without rest, the user begins experiencing muscle stiffness in the legs and delayed reaction time. After 6 activations in a short span, the user suffers temporary coordination lag where movement becomes slightly imprecise for several seconds.

The technique has a secondary effect called Afterimage Drift. When the user performs a burst, their residual cursed energy briefly lingers in the previous position for about 0.5 seconds. This creates false visual timing for opponents, making it harder to predict the exact direction of movement. However, experienced sorcerers can still track the real movement if they focus on cursed energy flow instead of sight.

The technique’s main weakness is stamina and prediction. Because each burst is discrete and limited, opponents who can read movement timing or force area denial can restrict its usefulness. Additionally, prolonged use rapidly drains leg reinforcement, meaning the user cannot rely on it for extended chase or escape scenarios without risking collapse of mobility control.

CE Trait: Corrosive

Effect: Any damage imbued with CE will slightly spread on a surface and slowly chip/melt it away. For example, a CE beam hitting metal, the metal is now corroded and will be melting slowly from the hole point where the CE beam passed through. Or for example, divergent fist, where the user lands the punch, the area where the punch landed will slowly scorch and bubble away.

Fluctuation:

Allows, or atleast, disallows the user to have a stable, normal flow of cursed energy, this means weaker, chopped, and unpredictable output in cursed energy in every single construct involving CE, unreliable timing, and extreme randomness on when the CE fluctuates or not function properly. However, if the user is smart enough, he could exploit the fluctuation window, and since Black Flashes are basically formed from fluctuating cursed energy at a last milisecond, the user could use this to redefine or augment the conditions for blackflashing, making it more frequent than usual, in exchange that the user cannot use his CE a bit more properly or formally due to the unstable patterns. For clarification, Black Flash occurs when cursed energy impacts within an infinitesimal timing window after physical contact. While this CE trait creates a natural temporal instability in CE synchronization. Meaning, the user’s cursed energy is already constantly lagging, surging, and snapping into alignment unpredictably. So a highly skilled user could intentionally “ride” fluctuation spikes. This doesn’t guarantee Black Flash, instead it dramatically increases Black Flash probability, and the pseudo-synchronization opportunities. Given these features, this CE trait is HORRIBLE for RCT users and Domain clashing, hell, even for Domain Expansions because of the unpredictable CE spikes and crash, instead, this is probably best for melee fighters or brawler-type sorcerers like Yuji Itadori.

I just thought of this for a bit, Domain Expansions are composed of Negative CE, being deemed as the "pinnacle of jujutsu", and we know that Positive CE is somewhat hard to produce for sorcerers, being needed to multiply two Negative CEs to output a positive one. But for hypotheticals sake, if the user is extremely proficient with their cursed energy mastery, and knows how to use positive CE/RCT/CTR very well, could they have a Domain Reversal composed of Positive CE? assuming that said user has enough mental capacity to manage it, and vast amounts of CE reserves.

— Minecraft Inspired CT —

Enchanter's Light—

A cursed technique that gives its user access to various enchantments that can be imbued within objects/targets.

How the CT works is that the user has 4 choices on which enchantments they would choose to imbue an object with. Each enchantments are not permament though, and only lasts 15 seconds at base, but may be extended via stacking, though it takes more and more CE the more enchant is stacked on an object or if more than 2 items are enchanted simultaneously.

Conditions: The user must physically touch the object or target for 1 - 2 seconds before they are enchanted. Each enchant only lasts for 15 seconds, but may be stacked at a maximum of 3 IDENTICAL (not different) enchants that add an extra +5 seconds to the countdown timer. Only 1 enchant is allowed to be imbued on a target at a time, the user may reapply or apply a new enchant upon the previous enchant's expiration. This technique, however, also has its range. If an object or target is outside a 15-meter range, the enchant timer is instantly dropped down to 3 seconds regardless of stacking, the user has 3 seconds to trigger the enchant before it expires, if the target goes outside and goes back in the 15-meter radius, the same phenomenon would occur. For stacking, the user does not need to touch said target again to stack another one on an already-inflicted target. Each stack uses up one slot from the 4 limit.

Enchants:

- Binding Loyalty: The user imbues an object or target with Binding Loyalty. Within a 15-second window that the target is inflicted with Binding Loyalty, the user may extend their hand to 'yank back' the target back towards them regardless of place (except when ourside the 15-meter radius), turning it into a forced attraction move. Upon the triggering of this enchantment, all stacks and timers related to Binding Loyalty inflicted on the target is expired.

- Cursed Mending: The user imbues a target or an object with Cursed Mending for 15 seconds. Cursed Mending allows the user to redirect a continous flow of cursed energy unto a remnant of a soul or object. In terms of "soul", the user must be quick to imbue said target/object with this enchantment before the remnant of the soul is considered expired, whilst in terms of objects, the user does not have a time constraint for this and may freely imbue it whenever except for the 15-second countdown. Cursed Mending allows the user to reconstruct something—or someone to its full, original state temporarily for 15 seconds before they are reverted back to their current state whilst actively siphoning large amounts of CE from the user per second.

- Scornful Thorn: Allows the user to inflict themselves/a target/an ally with Scornful Thorn. This enchantment partially reflects a weaker output of attack/injury sustained by the imbued onto the injurer, with the effect indefinitely active until the 15-second countdown is finished.

- Aspect of Flames: This has three applications: If applied onto a target, the user may apply Aspect of Flames as a Burning effect, effectively setting the target on fire for 15 seconds straight unless they manage to put it out. The second application is if the user imbues an object with it, the object will instantly light up in flames, anything this object touches will be burned except for the user. The third application is if it is applied to self. If the enchant is applied to self, then the user's cursed energy applications (not cursed technique expressions) such as those blue Flaming Hand thingies, cursed energy discharge/CE blasts are combustible and will light anything into flames upon contact for 15 seconds. The flames caused by Aspect of Flames do not spread and only focuses on where it was applied to/concentrated in.
