Rant: Losing to converge feels really bad
It feels extremely oppressive and not fun losing to soup decks and you literally can’t do anything about it except count down the turns until they have 4-5 colors and proceed to wipe out your hand, wipe your board, gain all of their life back and then some, etc. It makes all other archetypes seem pointless. The only archetype that seems to actually match up is silverquill aggro, but good luck if you that lane is closed.
The worst part? They don’t even need creatures to win. I literally lost three games in a row where all my opponent did was ramp, counter, remove… and then Snarl Song/Arcane Omens. Meanwhile I’m out of creatures and holding all this removal that never sees play. Then they inevitably return their spells back to their hand and rinse and repeat. It’s demoralizing.
