Bike & E-Bike Theft Dresden - your experience

I am considering getting a bike or e-bike, but many of my friends have had their bikes stolen. A work colleague says she has had a 400€ bike for 5 years now, secures it with a 3€ Rossmann bike chain, and it has never been stolen.
I wonder what price range bikes can get stolen in? Do you know anybody who had a 100€ bike taken, for example?
I was thinking of getting a foldable e-bike. I got interested in the Fiido X and Fiido D11. It would be a financial burden if it got stolen, and I would not be able to replace it emotionally.
I would park it in front of stores and the doctor's office, store it at home at night. I’m also planning to remove the battery when entering stores, etc.
Should I get insurance? I would prefer not to. The price of the bike is already so high—I would prefer to save that money, buy it and be done with the extra expenses.
