My story… with a happy ending
I hope you all stay strong through this diagnosis! It’s been rough. In my case, it was accidentally found because my doctor had no appointments available and another doctor saw me and confused my symptoms for a possibility of h pylori. So I was tested for it. Didn’t think much of it. But those antibiotics (and I did the quadruple therapy) were something else! Plus following a low FODMAP diet was no picnic when you add all the things you have to limit like acidic food.
I was lucky to have support around me and lucky to not have to work since I work for my parents. But I can only imagine everyone who doesn’t have those same privileges.
I was crying everyday and was told by my doctor that the medication is supposed to feel like you’re dying so don’t take it as if your body is going against you but as if your body is fighting the good fight.
I finally got tested on Monday after 6 long weeks (8 including the 2 weeks I took the antibiotics) and received my results today (Saturday). And thank God my tests came back negative. I pray you all heal from your diagnosis and the issues that coincide with this diagnosis.
I am now free from my own chains. I wouldn’t go out with friends or public places, I lived in the grocery store (went every 2 days), I brushed my teeth with a new disposable cup and toothbrush every single day, even though I felt great I still avoided the main triggers like acidic food and black pepper, I started eating healthy with yogurt and flaxseeds and chia seeds every day and I did throw out all of my makeup and sanitized it any time I used it.
I wish you guys the very best on this journey and stay strong. Prayer helped me a lot. But if not, having a positive spirit will get you through the dark days. May you guys get healed and have better and healthier days ♥️
