I know this is poor character development, but Anne always felt so off from the start.

BEWARE SPOILERS

For example Sebastian portrays her as the most mischievious of the 3 (with the twins and Ominis), he also says she isn't herself anymore since the curse (fair enough bc to me, she didn't seemed mischievious at all).

But since our character NEVER saw their previous interactions - where Anne was supposed to be the boldest, we can't really say, how was she acting before.

We know she bickers with Sebastian sometimes, mainly for taking her stuff without asking her and she leaves him a note in Feldscroft so we can read it.

At some point Sebastian reproaches us to "not care about Anne", but why would we?

We don't know her aside from the 5 minutes trip in Feldcroft, where I thought she was nice and felt sorry for her and the curse, but I was also annoyed of how submissive, naive and devoid of persoality she was, as she repeated exactly what Solomon says.

Also Solomon who is a former Auror, unleashed at Sebastian literally seconds after he gifted Anne a shievielfig (harmeless fruit) and destroyed it.

And Anne just... side with psycho-solomon..???

So let's say, that's the real deal and not a poor character development:

So I just have this fun theory Anne actually hated Hogwarts and all the other girls and she faked the curse pretending it was so much worse than it actually was, just to stop going to school.

She didn't ask for book to try to study or stayed in contact with the teachers.
It's unclear if she sends owls to Ominis.

Sebastian while visiting her, is not bringing her any books.

The fact she has literally NO female friend is so telling since they sleep in dorms with at least 4 OTHER students. It should have been easy for her to make friends, even for a shy person.

The twins' relation is actually toxic and Anne could use her alledged decline health to have Seb's attention. And Sebastian while being obsessed in "saving her" also use that as an excuses to go deeper into dark magic.
Ann while pretending there"s "no hope" heavily rely on the attention Sebastian and Solomon gave her.

The fact St Mungo's just sent her back home with no explanation, when we know permanent cursed patient have a floor to stay.

Her curse is unexplainable.

During her first years at Hogwarts, she could have stole other students homework and fake it the most she could bc lazyyyy, while developing 0 social interaction to the point NO ONE remember her.

Even Cressida who is a gossip addict, doesn't mention her, however Anne sudden disappearance/curse should be somewhat intriguing..?

Sebastian saying she the most mischievious of the 3, could be interpreted in so many different ways.
But maybe he was the only one to noticed Anne was cheating to all of her homework and never got caught bc she was actually smart enough to keep a low profile.

At the final scene Seb killing Solomon in self defense, Anne counters with very powerful magic, and I was like "yeah, nice one pretending you are sick lol" , so that proves she's capable of casting great spell when she wants.

Earlier when the village is attacked by goblin, she rushed in the battle instead of hiding home.

Sebastian casts impero on the goblin that was attacking her. Then psycho-solomon got mad at him and she doesn't even react?
Which was so annoying, like her twin saved her life!

And WHY she rushed outside??? this doesn't make any sense, unless she wanted to draw attention on her again.

Solomon is a former Auror (I also have a theory he got fired for attacking innocents and using dark magic mainly) with a god complex—exactly the kind of person easy to manipulate.

At the end of Sebastian quest, she left Feldscroft without problem to hide somewhere WHILE STILL BEIING UNDERS THE CURSE!!!

And leaves a passive-aggressive note to Seb saying more or less: "I love you, but I also hate you. Don't ever talk to me, but you can message me sometimes."

So what do you think? Is it making sense?
