If you or someone from your close circle had their interview after 1/1/2026 and hold only one passport from one of the fully banned countries. Please share your experience. Many people are giving different interpretations including law firms. While clearly no one has a clew on how waivers are granted and if anyone got one so far.

What is circulating on the web is the following: 1- reschedule your interview. 2- attend the interview and receive (212)f "some are claiming this is automatic". With many interpretations on what happened next. Fully banned start from the scratch on e eligible or reschedule interview when the Presidential proclamation changes. 3- attend the interview and hope for a waiver "DHS instructions indicates, that the waivers are based on different national interests criteria and only at the consular discretion" 4- don't bother even if granted a visa you won't be able to enter at a board of entry/ inadmissibility due to the ban. " This one make no sense it waiver is granted. Since legally inadmissibility is up at the immigration officer discretion."

Clearly there is a ton of uncertainty!. I wanted to create this post to gather people experience that would be super helpful in giving the rest of us information or expectations for the interviews.

P.S: I am trying to shift from personal interpretations, guesses, prior experience... Etc . Also want to avoid political discussions relating to the ban/presidential proclamation. And apologies if I shared my interpretation on one of the above guesses. I did cause it didn't make sense to me.

Please help us gather details for immigration based interviews. IL dates, timelines and outcomes.

Thank you and good luck to you all!
