Welcome back to Rendili Skunkworks! Today we will be building an assault carrier for the Rebellion/New Republic, and to achieve this we will be collaborating with Incom and Dornean Braha'ket Fleetworks (Notable for their Bra'hatok Gunship) for the Y-4's armored cargo bay design and Braha'ket for help with the design respectively.

This design calls for a large underslung hangar space capable of carrying 3 squadrons of fighters and enough cargo space to fit medium walkers and land vehicles. We will use widened versions of Incom's Y-4 Cargo modules for this task which comes out to about 200m while the rest of the ship accounts for another 250m coming out to about 450m.

Second, the bridge of the ship will be a, as Ghost put it 'Circumcised' Hammerhead with the top part of the hammer removed to make the top a flat surface. Why? So we can mount a fuck ton of laser cannons there! 4 Retractable Quad laser cannons to be exact. We will also mount 4 more dual laser cannons on the 'keel' on the dividers between the Cargo sections.

Thirdly, the Swing wings. These are designed to swing out 10 Proton Torpedo (or concussion missiles on some designs) tubes as well as a Dual medium turbolaser on each end. They can also swing back in case they are needed to broadside an enemy.

Finally at the rear of the ship is the flight control tower, the engines and six batteries of dual light turbolasers. The flight control tower is the main command center for fighter operations as well as ground operations when landed. The engines will need to be enough to propel the ship to 58 MGLT to keep up with it's CR90 Escorts if a little behind. For this we will use 4 of the Rendili home designed RSD-88D-II Brightstar engines (The Sphyrna Engines) and 2 RSD-200D-III Starcracker Ion Drive engines (Homebrew)

Rendili Skunkworks: Victory-II Composite Beam Laser Variant

Hello people it's me again, I have yet another batshit ship modification for you. And since I seem to be doing this quite a lot I thought it would be fitting to give my mad ramblings an official name; Rendili Skunkworks.

Now onto the business of strapping 8 naval scale composite lasers to this thing. Taking advantage of the weapon hardpoints in the Victory's side winglets I will put in 10 Composite Beam projectors on each side for a total of 20 projectors. This will require the removal of all 20 ion cannons but the power freed up by these should suffice to meet the power demands of the Composite Beam lasers. My design calls for the ability to switch the intensity of the combined beam and how many there are by being able to group the beams into larger or smaller groups of composite beams combining into one. For example if I wanted high strength beams I would group the projectors up into groups of five per beam where as if I wanted smaller anti-fighter beams I could group them into groups of two. This system will likely require an advanced fire control system rather than individual operators per beam but look on the bright side, you won't have to hire as many crewmen! This variable system also makes up for the Victory-II's non existent anti-fighter defenses. (I blame Kuat for this dumbass design decision)

Mercenary Company Building Challenge:3025

On other subs like r/StarWarsShips there are fleet building challenges where you are given certain perimeters to build a force. So I thought what better a setting to build a force than Battletech?

You are a aspiring mercenary commander looking to make it big in the Inner sphere. You have taken out a loan of 500,000,000 C-Bills. Your goal is to build up a force for your first mercenary contract.

The only rule is that you cannot have custom units, otherwise everything follows prices according to Sarna or Master Unit List

This will just be for the initial purchase of the equipment and manpower and will not be taking into account maintenance though you are absolutely free to take that into consideration yourself

Additionally if you would like to provide extra lore, details on how the company fights, color scheme etc. Feel free to do so.

Edit: A smaller budget of 300,000,000 including dropships and personnel might be more feasible but this is kind of an experiment so feedback is appreciated

Dreadnaught Class Dreadnought: Yo Dude I heard you liked Dreadnaughts so I made a Dreadnought out of your Dreadnaught

Have you ever looked at the Dreadnought heavy cruiser and said to yourself "I wish that could be bigger"? Well wish no longer my friends because we at Rendili have yet another gunbrick abomination for you today!

The Dreadnaught Class Dreadnought is a blatant violation of reason, sensibility, and intergalactic law. At 2,400 meters this ship takes the Rusaan Reformations and tosses them in the locker where they belong. Boasting an impressive armament of 80 Dual Medium Turbolasers, 48 Vertical Launch Torpedo Tubes, and 120 Dual Medium Laser Cannons. It also boasts a respectible fighter compliment of 96 starfighters, 32 dropships and 16 shuttles. It also hosts a significant ground compliment of 10,000 troops with accompanying armor and transports. It has shields comparable to Clone Wars ships of the time but it was the several meter thick armor plating that allowed it to shrug off most enemy fire. It has a few major drawbacks though, first of which was the near astronomical cost, the cost of the ship alone is 464,000,000 credits and when accounting for the crew costs it comes up to about 100x the cost of the original Dreadnaught heavy cruiser. Secondly is the city sized crew cost, in order to operate the ship at full capacity the ship needed 160,000 crew members aboard. Unfortunately inheriting the poor automation from it's predecessor the Dreadnaught Class Dreadnought held an entire micro-city complex within it's hull to house it's crew, this micro-city brought with it many amenities not normally afforded to naval crews like restaurants, malls and apartments for the crew. This has had a side affect where the crew is extremely motivated to protect the ship that they see as their home. Due to these drawbacks it was passed over as the Republic's next generation capital ship in favor of the cheaper and more versatile Imperator Star Destroyer and only a small few ships were produced before the end of the Clone Wars.
