we built a new house in the desert. i am burying all our food scraps all over the yard thinking i am enriching the very sandy soil. i dont want to start a formal compost and i have seen several youtubes

i brought in the local ranch manure and things are growing nicely, the old ground is eating up the compost. scraps are gone in a couple of weeks.

is this a bad idea ?
