"Locked out" out a MacBook Pro 2021(Lockheed Martin)

I want to start by saying that I DID NOT STEAL IT. They gave an unused laptop to my family from a branch or project that never moved forward.

Its a Macbook pro 16inch 2021 on MacOS Monterey. I can't get past the setup screen as it asks for a key before logging in.

There are no accounts on it since it was never used, so no password reset option.

I haven't tried anything because I don't want to break it and I could really use a newer one(my current one is 12 years old).

Is there any way to get around the lock without going to the company's IT?

There isn't any data on there to lose but I'm not sure if I can do anything with the hardware since I'm not very steady handed.

Any help is appreciated😊
