I have applied to SFE for GEM. They are asking to upload supporting evidence for: What can you give us to prove your NHS bursary? Anyone know what this is about?

Hey guys,

I’ve recently received a med school offer thankfully and started a new part-time role a few months ago. I’m obviously really grateful for the role, but I now know I’ll be leaving in about 4 months.

I’ve never been in this situation before, so I’m not sure what the best approach is in terms of timing and how much to share. When are you planning to tell your employer? Are you giving a lot of detail or keeping it quite simple? Is it better to give early notice out of courtesy, or just stick to the standard notice period?

I’ll definitely tell them regardless, just conscious that I haven’t been there long and don’t want to handle it badly or burn bridges as I may even ask if there's any opportunity for me to work in 0-hour contract way....

Would appreciate any advice or how others are approaching it to their employers...
