Hi everyone, I’m not very tech-savvy and I’ve never owned an Apple device before, so I’d really appreciate some advice.

My needs:

• Mainly use for one AAA MMORPG game (around 30–50GB) and Discord for screen-sharing with friends. I usually play about 2–2.5 hours a day, sometimes less.
• I have small hands and weak wrists, so I’m looking for something compact and comfortable to hold, with decent battery life.
• I don’t play on max settings, just want the game to look good, run smoothly, and not get too dim or laggy while gaming.

From my research:

• I know the Mini 7 is probably the most suitable option for my hand situation. But I’ve heard mixed opinions. Some say the gaming experience on the Mini isn’t great for heavy games because it heats up easily, the battery life isn’t ideal, and can lag at times. Others also mentioned that the screen can look dim during gaming. Since Apple devices are expensive, I want to buy something that will last for years, and I’m worried that gaming regularly on the Mini might push it too hard.
• In terms of performance and overall gaming experience, I know the newer Air M4 is obviously better than the Mini 7. But like I said, I’m not sure if it would feel too heavy during long gaming sessions. I’ve held it in-store before and it felt fine, but I don’t know if my hands would get tired or uncomfortable after 2+ hours of gaming. Also, since the screen is larger, reaching for in-game buttons might be a bit difficult.

So for anyone who plays heavy games similar to Genshin Impact on either the Mini 7 or the Air M4 (or both), could you share your gaming experience and which one you would recommend?
