I'm a student who got scammed through Carousell. What else can I do? ( Also Scammer Awareness Post)
Hello po, I'm hoping to get some advice on what to do. I made a transaction with a "verified professional seller" on Carousell on May 08. I was trying to buy a study table with a chair and a shelf for my studies. Umabot siya sa 1.6k pesos total. Seller said i-de-deliver daw nila the next day. Nagrereply naman sila yesterday assuring me na isship nila, pero walang dumating. I kept messaging till evening pero wala nang reply.
I've reported them to Maya and Gcash which is where our transaction happened, both of which are still pending. Sabi ng Carousell support "Since the seller was still responding in the last 48 hours, please continue your conversation with them on Carousell. If the situation changes or the seller stops replying, let me know right away so I can help you further." I've tried reporting sa CICC as the subreddit advised, pero puro loading lang yung website, I've tried calling and sabi sakin mag message daw ako sa FB nila, pero wala paring reply.
Money is really tight right now, and I can't believe na na-scam pa ko. I did all my usual precautions. Checked the seller info, looked for reviews, and image searched the listings. All of which naman are okay. I really wish I could get my money back or the items my father and I paid for.
I also want to spread awareness about this person, since after being suspicious and checking more around their account, they also used what I'm assuming is another fake Carousell account to leave a review on their page. This account is also verified by Carousell and is also selling items. In the chance that I don't get my money back I'm hoping wala nang iba pang ma-scam, andami nilang likes and followers sa items nila, I'm assuming I'm not the only one scammed.
