Case in point point my new LL Rogue 31. I will admit when I first opened her up I had just the slightest bit of disappointment. I love how beautiful she is but the feeling of the loved leather wasn’t as soft as my Maple rogue. That said, I really couldn’t see myself returning her so I generously conditioned her and returned her to the dust bag for a few days. Last night I took her out and whoa, what a difference. So soft and supple now.

My theory is that these bags get manufactured well ahead of time for drops, they’re stored with lots of paper and desiccant packets, which is great for preventing mold and moisture, but probably does contribute to drier leather.
