Background

*I am currently a 2nd year B.E. Computer Engineering student from an average college in Pune. *However, I am not interested in computer engineering or coding. *I have always been more inclined towards commerce and business, but due to parental and peer pressure, I chose the science stream. Despite having no interest, I still managed to score 80.2% in 12th CBSE.

Initial Career Thought

*During 12th, I considered joining the merchant navy. However, I am colorblind, which made me medically unfit, so that option was no longer possible. This eventually led me to take engineering.

First Year of Engineering My routine was very basic and repetitive: College (10 AM – 5 PM) Home Gym (8–10 PM) Sleep I did no skill development, no extracurricular activities, and didn’t explore any interests. In the second semester of my first year, I decided to explore Business Analysis as a career option. I completed a course from LinkedIn Learning during that time.

Realization in Second Year In second year, I started questioning my decisions, similar to what I felt in 11th–12th. I realized I didn’t want to continue in this direction and needed clarity about my future.

In 3rd semester, I planned to take courses and learn about BA but didn’t follow through. Currently (4th semester): Bought a Business Analysis course on Udemy Completed only 11 out of 17 lessons in one month Overall, I’ve been procrastinating a lot.

Current situation I am aware that if I continue like this, I might end up with no direction or skills. This realization is making me feel frustrated and concerned about my future.

Career Options I’m Considering

  1. Business Analyst Path Learn all required skills before graduation Get a job → gain 2–3 years of experience Then pursue Master’s abroad Eventually move into a non-tech business role Final goal: start my own business
  2. Education / Teaching Field Enter teaching or education-related work Earn capital and time Work on a business idea alongside
  3. Start Working Early Get a job immediately Gain experience + capital Eventually start something of my own
  4. MBA in India(least priority as I'm a G.E.M) Prepare for entrance exams Pursue MBA from a good Indian college

What I Need Guidance on which path is better Suggestions for other career options or fields if relevant Advice on how to move forward and avoid wasting time
