Debating on Pursuing My MBA

I have wanted to do a post-grad degree for years but was in a traumatic car accident that took several years to recover from. I also have debated whether or not it makes sense financially, but I have recently felt like I’ve hit a ceiling.

For context, I’m currently working in biotechnology and project management and have 10 years of experience across marketing, digital strategy, and client/program management. I am PMP-certified and I’m currently making $100k in this position.

Post MBA, my aspirations are consulting, although I’d also consider PM roles within big tech/FAANG given my background working with tech and telecom clients. Long term, I’m interested in international business and strategy along with consulting. My first choice for schooling would be NYU.

Right now I’m planning for a potential Fall 2027 start date and focusing on whether or not to take the GRE. My undergrad GPA was 3.4.

A few things I’d love some advice on:

- For someone with my level of experience, how important is the GRE/GMAT for Stern specifically?

- Has anyone successfully pivoted from project/program management into consulting?

- How realistic is recruiting for consulting and/or big tech PM at 30+?

Appreciate any and all advice. Thanks!

I’ve been dreaming of owning an AP for years, and I’m finally ready to take the leap. I’ve seen the gist regarding AP allocations for men, and how a RO is typically a second or third allocation. However, I’m wondering if it would be different for women? The only watch I’m familiar with that even suits a woman is the RO or the smaller women’s watches. Any advice would be appreciated 🙂
