Apologies for the scuffed censoring. Just wanted to provide some complaints for the rating system. Seen a LOT of players acting like it's some perfect example of player impact when it quite clearly isn't.
It's heavily influenced by swing more than pretty much anything else and swing is a garbage metric for judging player impact in a match. It's mostly based on the round win % at that current time based on their damage/death/equipment value which is obviously a flawed method of discerning player impact. This pistol round is a solid example of which. On CT side I got the first kill, wasn't traded, and managed to stay alive long enough to be the 3rd to die and I was given the second highest negative swing for that round. Not my other CT on site who died first with no kills. He actually had the HIGHEST swing of that round. Once again, according to the swing stat, I had one of the worst impact on that round for...getting the entry on a rush and staying alive because my death cemented the loss. While my teammate who immediately wide peeked a rush after my first kill was the best that round because he did a kills worth of damage and his death had the least impact on paper.
Now before someone says that this is exactly what swing is meant to show, keep in mind that this is not simply a stat on match insights alone showing round progression. If it was I wouldn't care at all. This is one of the primary stats behind faceit rating AND is displayed on your profile.
Funny thing is I'm mostly making this because I saw some people trying to argue that a low faceit rating or swing score means that a player was probably baiting but that's literally the opposite of the truth. Baiting is actually far more beneficial for high swing and faceit rating. Any kind of uphill battle gives you huge amounts of swing and minimal loss of swing. A 1v1 isn't worth much but I've seen a very basic 1v2 give 70% swing that round... While a 1v2 entry that same round was only worth 17%. It's those that anchor the intense sites and who entry who are the most screwed. They need a 3k at least to get great swing score that round and have a much easier time losing swing if they die 'with advantage'.
Does it matter all that much? No, not really. But I like my stats and it bothers me that it works this way. It's also not really a personal gripe, I have a Faceit rating of 1.42 and an average swing of 6.5% which is the highest out of anyone I play with.
