Hi all,

I have a 2011 Ford Explorer Limited AWD with Active Park Assist.

My EPAS failed, and the mechanic replaced only the motor. Steering works now, but:

• Active Park Assist not working
• Multiple U-codes

Later I found out the motor is from a 2016 non-APA Explorer.

My question:

Which motors are actually compatible?

• Do I need 2011–2012 APA only, or can newer ones work?
• Does the donor have to be Active Park Assist?
• Any specific part numbers to match?

I have FORScan, so programming is not an issue.

Any real experience would help a lot 🙏
