Been diagnosed with mild crohns ileitis last month
Sxs seem to be mild since being on budesonide since early March, tapering from 9mg to 3mg in 2 weeks.
Now under an IBD clinic who have given me 2 options- key hole surgery to remove the ileum and join my bowels back together or biologic infusions every 2 weeks. Feel so overwhelmed, considering it’s only mild and feel like the information was just thrown at me and have been told I have 1 week to make a decision on what I want to do.
My sxs can vary, depending on what I eat it can trigger a flare up mainly constipation achy joints back pain and just very very run down. However I have been watching my food and lifestyle changes and have been ok, my bowel movements have been pretty decent, I know for mild crohns it can be managed through diet and lifestyle changes too.
I guess you can say I really don’t want any treatment, I don’t know how much I can trust it, and I feel it was all rushed and possibly just want to use me as a guinea pig.
I’m just worried I obviously say no, and something worse happens in the future.
Ps below 25 years of age, otherwise fit and healthy. I’m just scared it will cause me further side effects and be something I end up regretting.
Advice would be much appreciated
