Why Upper T3 nlus over sls pune?

A lot of people have been messaging me after my yesterday post, stating that some “bhaiya” on YouTube is advising students to prefer SLS Pune over all Tier-3 NLUs.

Firstly, I want to clarify that the person making those claims is not from SLS Pune,He is from another college.so he may not have an accurate understanding of the current placement scenario here. I will try to explain my perspective in a simple way.

If you are considering SLS Pune primarily for placements, then you should keep one thing in mind. Most of my seniors who are currently in their 5th year are receiving placements in the range of around 8–9 LPA. Of course, there are exceptions, but I am talking about the majority.

Now, if you spend approximately 45L on the degree, even after taking the lower side of the expenses into account, your return on investment (ROI) comes to roughly 20%. On the other hand, the fees at upper Tier-3 NLUs are around ₹15L maximum. If a student there secures a placement of around normal 7–8 LPA, the ROI comes nearly 50%.

In institutes like IITs and IIMs, the ROI is often close to 100% or even 200%. In law schools, ROI is generally lower, but a 20% ROI is simply a shit, especially if you come from a middle-class background and are choosing SLS Pune solely for placements.

However, if you belong to an affluent family, then SLS Pune can still be a good option because it offers exposure and opportunities beyond placements.

One more thing that very few people notice is that there is a clause mentioning that the fees can increase by up to 10% every year. Most students overlook this point, so make sure you keep that in mind as well.

In the vacancy rounds, someone with a rank of up to 4.5k can get upper Tier-3 NLUs, while someone with a rank of up to 12k can get lower Tier-3 NLUs (based on last year’s data).

GOLDEN LINE:

COMPANIES WILL NOT PAY YOU MORE JUST BECAUSE YOU SPENT MORE ON YOUR LAW DEGREE. THEY DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT HOW MUCH YOU SPENT. THEY WILL PAY YOU ACCORDING TO YOUR SKILLS AND OVERALL CV.

If a senior is writing this type of long post then there must be a reason why I am saying all these points.

EDIT :- If you have any college comparison query let me dm will analyse all your deciding factors and needs, and make a informed decision

Uphold the post If you found the comparison clear and practical....

Nlus/Sls pune ???...

My last post was deleted by reddit for whatever reasons idc. I will post it again and again until it reaches to all the person whom it concerns. I am pasting that post here:

I am a 4th year student at Sls pune so will share the ground reality....

A lot of students are asking me in my dms :

whether they should choose SLS Pune or not.

Is it worth it?

Are placements declining?

Will the batch size create issues?

I'll answer all your queries in this single post.

First of all, without any sugarcoating-yes, placements at SLS Pune have been declining over the last 2-3 years due to the increased batch size. From this year, the batch size has reached around 600(Highest ever), with an additional 100 seats for management quota. So, from now on, the total batch size will be 700+ students. This will likely worsen the situation further for the 2026 batch and beyond.

Conditions in which you can opt for SLS Pune:

You are financially stable and can manage the fees without stress

You don't have other good options available

You are already a dropper

Conditions in which you should consider leaving:

You need to take a loan or can only manage the fees with extreme difficulty not easily manageable

You have options like Tier-2 NLUs or even upper Tier-3 NLUs

Trust me, you won't regret choosing NLUs. While the college tag matters, what you do during your 5-year journey matters more-and NLUs are still a strong option.

However, if you are financially stable, you may consider choosing SLS Pune over Tier-3 NLUs.

One more thing-don't calculate the fees like this: 26L(tuition) + 15L(hostel) = 41L. In reality, by the end of 5 years, it will cost you around 47-48L. I'm saying this from my personal experience.

ONE MORE THING SLS PUNE FEES CAN INCREASE UPTO 10% ON YEARLY BASIS VERY FEW KNOW ABOUT IT SO YOUR FEES CAN GO BEYOND 50L

If any further query persist then dm me ..

All the best guys If you found this detailed analysis helpful then uplift the post......
