Seeking advice and tips on KDP book promotion

Many places Ive tried to promote my first book have either resulted in no sales or a place that seems like the perfect audience for my book prohibits posts about my book type. Ive tried promoting on Facebook, Reddit, with YouTube videos all to no avail.

Wondering for those of you who are making sales, what tips could you give that are working for you in 2026?

I broke my 5 day sardines fast with milk and marmalade and eggs and cheese.

I felt good through 8pm. Then at 4am I awoke in such pain. Let me explain.

I went on the sardines diet (1 can of sardines 3 times a day + electrolytes) for 5 days as a healing protocol. I noticed immediate results on day 1. Rotator cuff inflammation went down. GERD symptoms reduced. Brain fog reduced. Everything was going great until day 4. Day 3 I had experimented with adding balsamic vinegar and vinegar based BBQ sauce and I believe that may have thrown me out of ketosis.

Day 4 my shoulder started to really hurt. Brain fog and unexplainable exhaustion. Based on my research, this might be an indicator that I was thrown out of ketosis. On day 4 I also ate 2 olive slices (they were included in the "Mediterranean" flavored sardines).

Needless to say, I was not comfortable, but I pushed through day 5 and day 6 morning was very excited to eat scrambled eggs and cheese. The plan was to directly transition to carnivore diet. But I felt so exhausted after eating the eggs and i need my brain to function so I could job-hunt that noon, well I ended up feeling that drinking a mug of healthy raw milk with a few spoons of homemade orange marmalade and would be the best option available to me to try to restore my energy. Bear in mind I was still supplementing with electrolytes.

But I woke up feeling so sick at 4 am the next morning (2 days after stopping sardines fast). I had postnatal drip, coughing, hiccups all at the same time and all shoulder inflammation was back. So I immediately went back on sardines fast the next day, but instead of 3x daily, I did OMAD instead (starting day 8) and after one more day the relief returned.

Im looking for guidance and feedback on what exactly I experienced. I think, based on the symptoms of ketosis -- especially loss of appetite -- that I am in ketosis. But, if Im in ketosis, then why am I having sporadic bouts of sinus congestion and sneezing? Is that common?
