What's Sol's public persona? We know that he's head of the Shears, but I assume that's probably not a widely known fact. When Arvel find out about Maggie's family during the ball, he's very antagonistic toward Sol, but why? Does he know about the Shears? Since he's the head of the Defenders, he might. However, to most people, Sol is Lord Dargarra and is part of the Demarr family, which is a well respected family as mentioned many times. Do we think Sol cultivates a bad rep even to those who don't know about the Shears?
I'm just curious why Arvel is so anti-Sol and anti-Demarr when for all intents and purposes the Demarrs are a good family. Shouldn't he be glad that Maggie comes from such a noble house? Also, I don't think he knows about Demarr and Everard's secret alliance either since it's made clear that in public, the Demarr keep their distance from Everard since they can't risk angering Sauven.
