My first 5 spiral bound books I completed today!

This is so fun to do! Like I need an excuse to buy MORE new colouring books?! Bahahaha!

For those asking how I do it:

  1. I take the colouring book and open it at various spots and start to bend it to soften the glue a bit.

  2. Slowly and carefully rip the book into about 4 parts.

  3. Carefully tear out the pages one by one.

  4. Use your paper cutting machine to cut off the jagged edges and any residual glue on the pages. You are aiming to cut off the tiniest amount possible. I am now able to do about 3 pages at a time. Any more than that and the pages move a bit during cutting, and you want all the pages to be the same size. The cutter has guide lines on it so that you know you’re cutting them all the exact same size.

  5. Use your 10 hole puncher to make 20 holes in each page. I do 2-3 pages at a time. This takes some trial and error to find exactly where to start to make your first set of 10 holes. My little puncher machine has two guide holes that I am able to place the bottom second and third holes onto to hold the page in place while also making sure the two sets of holes will be aligned while making the second set of holes. (This will make sense if you actually buy these items and try to do this!)

  6. After all your pages have holes in them; you take your spine and measure it to ensure it’s the length you want, and then cut off any excess length. I use a pair of small kindergarten scissors and they cut through no problem.

  7. Take your pages, working from the back pages to the front, and put the spine through the holes. The rings just click to close them super easily. I do this about 6-8 pages at a time.

  8. Enjoy your new spiral bound book!

The first book you do will take a bit longer but as you get the hang of what you’re doing, it takes about 30 minutes from start to finish to take a book apart and spiral

bind it. The benefit to this is that you can colour your pages on a flat surface and don’t have to hold your book down to colour. (And it looks cute too! Lol) Once you are used to it, it’s fun to do while watching (listening) to something on

TV or music or whatever. Hope this helps! 😀
