How to find non-technical cofounder?

I’m having some difficulty finding a non-technical cofounder with strong ops background.

I think I’m credible. Ex-YC (built a solid business) but I’m having some difficulty finding the right potential cofounder. The new business is a marketplace so preferably someone who loves operations.

I tried the YC cofounder match thing but very few ppl there seem to be into marketplace ideas. It’s mostly ppl wanting very lean purely digital businesses. Anyone have tips?

Looking for a cofounder — ex-YC/Oxford, £40K/mo

  1. 29, Oxford maths, YC alumni

  2. Run a lean solo business doing £40K/mo profit on autopilot for last 9 months

  3. There’s a clear way to 10x this to £400K/mo but it requires infrastructure that doesn’t exist yet

  4. That missing infrastructure is the new company. My existing business becomes customer one generating £400K+ in annualised revenue from day one

  5. There are 10,000+ others in my industry hitting the exact same ceiling. I’ve spoken to dozens who confirm this

  6. 1,000 customers on the platform = 9 figures in annual revenue

  7. Requires building out the supply side of a marketplace

  8. Looking for a cofounder who loves operations, marketplaces, and fundraising

  9. Can bootstrap far on existing revenue but scaling into a dominant position will require raising

Reach out if you want to build something very large together. Happy to share the full thesis on a call.

Conflicted if I should stay bootstrapped or raise

I current run a solo very lean £40k/mo profit business. It’s a tech business not an agency so it runs by itself. Uses quite a lot of AI. At this point it requires less than 3 hours a week if that.

The current opportunity is capped out. However I do see an alternative route that I can see becoming a £b company.

It directly relates to something I personally badly need and would 10x my business. And I know would 10x the businesses of others in my space. But the product I have in my mind has very high legal and operations complexity.

But the issue is that building that business requires fundraising and aiming for a venture scale startup basically.

If I had the right partner cofounder who had this in their wheelhouse I’d probably jump right in as I think I understand what needs to be done on the business/operations/tech side to grow that business.

But when it comes to all the fundraising stuff I really honestly hate it. Truthfully I think I just don’t come across as someone investment worthy.

Has anyone dealt with being in this position?
