Should I run my half??

I’m supposed to have a half marathon on Sunday. I just went for a 5k which felt awful after a 2 week break after hurting my hip (I think?) on a 16k run on my plan. I’ve had this niggle since about November, it’s irritated by longer distances. The 5k I just did irritated my hip a little but also my knee (new entry !), as well as feeling just pretty rough on the legs generally. Fitness feels fine still. Thing is, I have reigned in my training plan a little to account for the fact my hip got a tad irritated, meaning I probably haven’t trained as much as I should have.

I’m a slow runner anyway so would gladly take it slow, but am I being really stupid thinking I could still do the half? It’ll be my first ever and I’d love to just do it. But at the same time, I don’t want to cause long term damage. I’m only 25!

I started running about a year ago and it would be an amazing milestone to hit. But let me know what you think.

Should I do it? Should I not? Should I do one later in the year?

Any advice appreciated!
