Score Release + Seeking CARS Advice
Hi! I recently got my first actual exam score back and here are the results. Overall, it went exactly how I expected it to (I had a hard time with CARS). A 515 is lower than any of the practice FLs I took (took all except FL6).
I scored quite high on the English/Reading portions of the SAT/ACT, so I deluded myself into thinking I was somewhat set for CARS. With AAMC and 3rd party exams, I started out scoring 129s in CARS and figured my attention would be better spent on sections where I could actually learn the material (meaning the 3 other sections), but my CARS just progressively got worse. I figured that just by reading passages from the other sections and through the non-exam AAMC CARS resources that I would improve gradually, but no. I did all of the AAMC CARS resources except the like 65% of the second question pack, but clearly my performance only decreased considering this 124 is the lowest score I’ve gotten on any practice section. I have the time to study and retake if I wish, but I don’t know how to approach getting better at CARS. Should I get a tutor for CARS? Any thoughts or advice? Did anyone who had a similar experience with CARS find a method or strategy that saved their score? Thanks guys.
