I'm at a university that I was forced to go to simply because the university I wanted to go to was expensive. Part of me wishes I had just sucked up the debt and went there anyway because this one is incredibly frustrating to be at. I am incredibly grateful for all the people I have met here, and the university has a good reputation for my major. However, most of the non-honors professors are mediocre at teaching, and too many of the staff members are incredibly rude and condescending to students for no reason. Additionally, it is in a dangerous part of the city, and we have been subject to too many crimes per semester. Our president/administration is also known to prioritize spending on sports over student safety in these cases.

Today, I had a very unpleasant interaction with a head of staff, who failed to notify me of an issue and proceeded to give an excuse, saying that they have never emailed students regarding their system because it was "too confusing." This was a lie, and I literally have past emails, from the same staff member, regarding updates on the system. It just made me so frustrated, but I decided not to email back anything as I thought it really wouldn't do anything other than satisfy my emotions, but I'm still thinking about it, so I'm ranting about it here. It just made me realize I have never heard of any good experiences with the staff here and how frustrating it is that I'm stuck here, dealing with these people who are supposed to help us, for a few more semesters.
