I recently had an ultrasound done for a lump in my breast of 2+years and the radiologist found a 1.9cm hard mass, possibly a fibroadenoma. They gave me two options: get a biopsy now, or do a 6-month follow-up. My PCP strongly recommended going ahead with the biopsy ASAP.
I’ve gone ahead and booked the appointment, but honestly I’m feeling pretty overwhelmed. I’m only 28 and this is all new territory for me.
A few things I’d love input on:
• For those who’ve had a fibroadenoma — did you do the biopsy or the wait-and-see approach? Any regrets either way?
• How was the ultrasound-guided biopsy experience? Is it as intimidating as it sounds?
• I also recently noticed a hard lump on my forehead near my hairline. Could these two things be related, or should I be getting that checked separately?
I know I’m probably overthinking this, but it’s hard not to spiral a little at 28. Any experiences or reassurance would mean a lot. Thank you.

Solis Mammography gave me quoted at $7,000 — $2,300 OOP with BCBSTX HDHP estimate and I’m genuinely unsure if I’m getting a fair deal. My PCP referred me there, but I’m starting to wonder if she sent me to an expensive place without considering more affordable options.

For context: an ultrasound found a 1.9cm hard mass, possibly a fibroadenoma. The radiologist who reviewed it wrote the referral specifically so insurance would cover the biopsy, and gave me the option of either doing the biopsy now or a 6-month follow-up. My PCP then had me come in for a 5-minute appointment just to tell me to get the biopsy done ASAP — which I suspect I’ll be billed for separately.
On top of all this, I’ve also noticed a hard lump on the front of my head near my hairline, which is adding to my anxiety.
I know I’m probably overthinking, but I’m 28 and dealing with a lot right now. Has anyone:
• Negotiated the cost or found a more affordable facility for this procedure?
• Had a similar situation with a fibroadenoma and chosen the wait-and-see approach?
• Had any experience with Solis Mammography specifically?
Any insight before I move forward would mean a lot. Thank you.
