Have a well that was abandoned to the best of my knowledge about 15 years ago when city water was installed. Managed to fish out the old lines for the jet pump that was there and wanting to get the well up and going for watering garden, washing cars etc since water is expensive here from municipality. Well is approx 75 ft deep and idea I have is to get a submersible pump to install, chlorinate the shit out of it and let it cycle for a while then pump it down to hopefully have some decent water for outdoors use. This won't be intended for the house, drinking etc.
Where I am now is a pump and pressure switch since this will sometimes be used on and off instead of a steady run, but do I need a pressure tank? If so what's the bare minimum? Looking for land with a house currently so this will not be a permanent home and dont want to get too financially deep into this. Any insight would be greatly appreciated on tank need, cheap but OK quality pump etc, this will be ran on existing 115/120V wiring and not 230/240V. No idea what the well produces water wise but its nearly a 100 or old house and was the source of water for a good while. Most houses on the road had similar wells with some still hooked up for outside use producing clear outputs (i know getting it tested would be wise after cleanout).
