How blatant are you/your colleagues with your AI use for work?

I’m creeping up on 6 years in the field and I’ve never been this productive thanks to AI. In fact, everyone at the startup I currently work at says the same thing. We are all open with how we heavily leverage AI. I like to think that we are in a sweet spot where we can comfortably let AI work its magic without producing crap because of the strong understanding we have of the underlying tools and principals involved. I’m no expert, I’m still learning every day, but I like to believe that I’m responsible with my AI usage and output for work related tasks.

We have a large client that I work directly with and it feels as if their story is not the same. I’m not the guy who’s always talking about AI, mentioning how I’m using it, or promoting the next trend in the space, but it almost seems like using AI for work is taboo to them. God forbid the words “AI” and “production” get used in the same sentence. They aren’t in a sensitive sector nor do their systems work with sensitive data beyond the basics. The weird thing is that it’s obvious everyone and their grandma is using AI one way or another, but they go out of their way to avoid mentioning any use of AI. I’ve caught some of their employees play off AI slop for their own work on multiple occasions. I genuinely don’t care at all and would never call out or shame someone for this crap, but I am curious if this behaviour is common.
