I’m looking for a cheap(ish) car to commute 40 miles each way for around 6 months, car could be kept after that if I liked it.
Really struggling with shopping in the sub £7k price bracket - finding a car with full service history is proving difficult!
I’ve found a 2004 A2 1.4 TDI with only 45k miles and very good service history, but it is still a 22 year old car and they want just under £4k.
I figured maybe I wouldn’t lose a packet as they are kind of sought after and cheap to tax.

Looking for real owner experience if anyone has any? Are there big issues with parts? Any big age related issues? I know the 1.4 lump itself is well regarded being based on the famous 1.9 PD minus a cylinder.
