We are flying on Tuesday this week and my son (19) just told me he can’t find his passport. I checked his drivers license and he never got a RealID either!
We are going to be going through TSA 4 times over the next 10 days, and I’m concerned about the process. From what I see, he shouldn’t have to pay each time, but do they do the extra screening process every time, too?
He has dyslexia and gets anxiety if he’s asked rapid fire questions. He’s also young and doesn’t have much of a “personal history background” (ie we’ve never moved and he’s got one credit card plus authorized on one of our accounts). What kinds of things will they ask him? I’ve been through credit review for identity verification before and some of the questions feel a bit tricky— (ie did you open this credit card at this time, when I’ve never had an account with that company, etc). I worry he’ll answer a question wrong because of the nerves and dyslexia.
I know TSA agents are already under a lot of stress! How can I make this easier on both them and my son? Aside from the obvious go back in time and check his identification early. We’ve already torn the house apart and can’t find his passport anywhere. Also, we’re leaving so early in the morning that the TSA checkpoint doesn’t open until about 90 minutes before our flight.
