Silvia’s get down

Now tbh these ichi goli times are from like last year or so, but I dug these pics up and I’m still impressed by them. I gotta revisit these things bc man are they fun to drive.

Looking for advice

I’ve got a 97 Explorer with the 4L SOHC V6 and it recently started making this awful sound. I’m thinkin one of the front cassette/guides for the front timing chain has gone but I’m not exactly sure though. I ran the motor without the belt on to see if the sound was still there without all the accessories turning and it’s still there! I’ve been doing some reading and if someone is to do a timing cassette job on one of these engines it’s only worth it if your going to pull the motor to do the front and rear chains. With only 137 thousand original kilometres the thing is really clean and I’m the second owner. but the more I look into it these motors are junk and im not sure it’s worth all that work and money.
